Every Day the Villain Continues to Fail

[Quick Transmigration]

Dr. Shang stayed up late tonight.

For a man whose biological clock was practically ingrained in his DNA, this was a rare occurrence.

It was already deep into the night, yet the bedroom lights remained on.

Still dressed in his daytime clothes, he sat in front of his computer, staring at the screen, lost in thought.

The glowing monitor displayed a long list of search results about "What to do if a cat goes missing."

His cat was gone.

Taken by that policeman, Zhao Lin.

No—kidnapped.

He had to find a way to get Ruan Yao back.

Zhao Lin's reputation as a playboy had spread through Longshan Sanatorium like wildfire the moment he was admitted.

Even the nurses in their department couldn't mention his name without spitting out an insult and calling him a shameless flirt.

Ruan Yao was such a foolish little cat, he would definitely be devoured by that cunning old fox, leaving nothing behind.

Shang Chi clenched his fists, veins bulging, teeth gritted. "Don’t make me go to the station and report you!"

Beyond the bedroom window, the city lay shrouded in darkness, its faint lights flickering like wandering stars in the heavy night.

A dull thud suddenly broke the silence of the room.

The man paused.

It came from outside the window.

A continuous sound—persistent yet cautious, tapping against the glass in a muffled rhythm, so faint it could vanish into the night wind at any moment.

And then, barely audible through the window, came a soft, almost imperceptible...

"Meow~"

He had never been this flustered before. When he stood up, he accidentally kicked over the chair in his panic.

Through the window glass, he saw a small cat trembling as it clung to the windowsill with its tiny paws, barely managing to hold on.

Its round little face was tilted up, calling out to him in a pitiful and soft voice.

Its hind legs were standing on a windowsill so narrow there was barely any space to balance.

Behind it was the dizzying height of the eighteenth floor, and even the wind that blew past carried a sharp chill, enough to cut through the skin.

Shang Chi’s breath caught for a moment. He forced himself to keep his voice steady, suppressing the tremor in his throat as he spoke gently,\ “Don’t move, Yao Yao, be good.”

Step by step, he moved toward the window. Thankfully, it was left slightly ajar, so it wasn’t entirely sealed shut.

The kitten’s round blue eyes looked at him through the glass. In the clear irises, Shang Chi’s cautious silhouette was reflected.

Holding his breath, he quickly scooped the little cat into his arms. Only after ruffling the fur on its head vigorously did he finally let out a sigh of relief.

He hadn’t even realized he was drenched in cold sweat.

“How did you climb up here?”

Now that the panic had passed, Dr. Shang began his interrogation. His face darkened as he grabbed the scruff of the little cat’s neck.

“Do you have any idea how dangerous that was? Hmm?”

Suspended in midair, the kitten let out an innocent “Meow” toward the man.

“Even if you didn’t want to spend the night downstairs, you shouldn’t gamble with your life!”

The system had been scared out of its wits by Ruan Yao’s actions. It only managed to stammer out a response when it saw Ruan Yao being held safely in Shang Chi’s hands.

“If you slipped while climbing up, we’d have to reset everything!”

Even if there were a hundred chances to reload a save, falling off a building would be an embarrassing reason for a reset!

During the review, the audience would definitely report this!

“That’s why I exchanged for a tool”

Ruan Yao said, swishing his tail. He curled up in the man’s arms like a spoiled little ball, acting as if he had suffered greatly and just wanted to be held.

Seeing this, Shang Chi’s stern expression softened despite himself.

The little cat had been spoiled by Shang Chi to the point of being unbearably delicate, unable to endure the slightest hardship.

Without an access card, there was no way to enter Shang Chi’s apartment building. If he didn’t want to spend a miserable night in the cold wind downstairs, his only option would have been to go back to Zhao Lin.

Thinking about Zhao Lin still made Ruan Yao feel resentful. The main lead was definitely not a good person, his sweet words were all deceitful.

How could he have done something so disgusting to him in the movie theater?

Shang Chi belatedly realized that, in this form, the little cat couldn’t actually speak. Even if he asked, he wouldn’t get any answers.

He lifted the little cat, bringing their faces to the same level, eyes meeting in a straight line.

A slow smile appeared on the man's face. "Almost forgot—if I don't do this, you won't speak."

The little cat's eyes widened. He looked utterly disheveled, his usually sleek and snow-white fur was now ruffled, and his tiny face, not even as big as the man's palm, was smudged with dust.

He looked pitiful and downtrodden.

Yet, the naturally fastidious Dr. Shang didn't seem to mind at all.

Not only did he allow the dirty stray cat to bury itself in his chest, staining his expensive silk shirt, but he even pinched the little cat’s face between two fingers and teasingly ran his thumb over its soft pink mouth.

The little cat froze in shock.

Ruan Yao's paws flailed in protest, and in his panic, he punched the man.

As he tumbled back onto the ground, his fur ruffled into a complete mess, there was a soft "poof"—and suddenly, the little cat transformed back into a bare-skinned cat-eared boy.

Ruan Yao sat on the floor, dazed, his sea-blue eyes blinking in confusion. A faint blush colored the corners of his upturned eyes.

In human form, he looked even more disheveled than before.

His pale legs were covered in red marks from friction, and streaks of dust clung to his skin.

His fluffy tail, extending from the base of his spine, was damp and matted in clumps of silvery-gray fur.

Unlike the pungent scent of humans, the air carried a faint, sweet fragrance, like a toffee melting on the tongue.

A crimson handprint stained the delicate white skin of his waist. The man had clearly held back, ensuring he didn’t leave bruises on that flawless body.

Ruan Yao lifted his dust-covered face to look at Shang Chi, instinctively shivering.

The man’s expression was even more terrifying than before.

At that moment, Ruan Yao realized, it was sometimes better to stay in his cat form. At least then, he wouldn’t have to worry about his chastity.

The man crouched down, slid an arm under the boy’s trembling legs, and effortlessly scooped him up.

Ruan Yao was incredibly light, barely any heavier than when he was a little cat.

Silver hair clung damply to his pale neck, the icy whiteness making every trace left on his body stand out even more.

His soft lips, slightly parted and caught between small white teeth, looked even more enticing.

Like a delicate flower within reach, tempting the man to devour it. A faint shimmer of saliva still clung to his lips, silently luring the man to bite down and consume him whole.

Ruan Yao wasn’t quick to react to most things, but he always had an uncanny sense for impending danger.

Hoping to appease the man, he nuzzled his soft cheek against Shang Chi’s chest. His sea-blue eyes shimmered with unshed tears as he whispered pitifully.

"I’m sleepy."

Shang Chi's voice was exceptionally gentle, full of patience. "Be good. We’ll bathe first, then sleep."

At that moment, he still seemed calm, even a little mild-mannered. When adjusting the water temperature and lowering Ruan Yao into the bathtub, his movements were careful and gentle.

But the moment Ruan Yao tried to struggle and climb out, the man pressed him back down with an undeniable force.

Something was off. Seriously off.

Ruan Yao trembled and quickly admitted defeat. "I was wrong."

Though, truthfully, he still had no idea what he had done wrong.

Cats were always willful, effortlessly stirring up human emotions without ever realizing the havoc they caused.

And for a human tormented by uncertainty, the only way to tether a cat’s heart, was to administer the necessary punishment.

The water temperature was just right. When the naked body was submerged in the water, the boy, beautiful to the point of being bewitching, subconsciously opened his delicate and gorgeous lips, and let out a low, comfortable sigh.

The man's hand scooped up a little water and splashed it on the boy's snow-white and soft belly.

The dazzling white skin was flushed a light shade of crimson by the water vapor.

Perhaps it was because of the warm hot water, or perhaps it was because the misty atmosphere softened the man's cold and hard eyebrows, Ruan Yao was drowsy and let the man's hand linger on his delicate flesh inch by inch.

The fingertips picked up a little sticky, thick white shower gel, and gently rubbed it on the soft muscles and bones, until bubbles with a fresh and gorgeous fragrance bloomed on the flawless skin.

I don't know if it's because of the atmosphere or something, Ruan Yao was almost immersed in this lazy and decadent atmosphere, and even the man's increasingly downward restless fingers went unnoticed.

Until Shang Chi touched the most vulnerable part of the boy.

The originally dazed blue eyes instantly widened, and the two pointed cat ears on the top of his head were trembling.

He had just experienced such a familiar, unbearable stimulation a few hours ago.

"Don't touch it." His legs struggled uncontrollably, kicking the edge of the white porcelain bathtub.

Even the soles of his feet were a bewitching deep red, and they were grasped in the man's hand without explanation.

The man's hard knuckles deliberately caressed the tender soles of his feet, watching the boy nervously curl up his toes.

"It's itchy."

Tears hung on his wet, silver-white eyelashes, and fell onto the steaming water surface.

"Then be good"

Shang Chi finally revealed his true colors, forcing the naked kitten to soak in the bathtub, unable to escape. He could only be held down and bullied by him.

"I will answer whatever I ask, do you hear?" He gently brushed the wet hair aside and tucked it behind the boy's soft red earlobe.

Ruan Yao was held captive at his most vulnerable point, and was so flustered that tears fell. Naturally, he agreed to whatever the man said.

"I have two things that make me most angry today."

Dr. Shang slowly and gently rubbed the particularly soft flesh with his fingertips.

Ruan Yao trembled and avoided the man's obsessive gaze: "I was wrong."

He seemed to only be able to say this sentence, and his voice already had a whimper.

Shang Chi would not let him go so easily: "I am angry that you ignored your own safety and did such a dangerous thing. Do you know what will happen if you fall from the eighteenth floor?"

Ruan Yao quietly cried, but he didn't realize where he went wrong, and he even argued with him: "That's because I wanted to see you."

Ruan Yao really shouldn't think that Shang Chi was just a psychiatrist at a sanatorium and ignore his terrifying grasp of human physiological knowledge.

I don't know where he touched him, but the boy struggled in the water like a soft white silver fish, splashing water everywhere but with nowhere to escape.

"And you was deceived by Zhao Lin in a few words, how do you explain that? What did he say to you? If he hurts you, what will you do?"

In such a stimulating scene, the man still looks very calm. The bright ceiling light in the bathroom falls from the top of his head and casts a half-bright and half-dark shadow through his drooping crow-black eyelashes, which makes him appear even more cold and ruthless.

Ruan Yao's whole body is tense.

Everything was fine just a moment ago, but now, under the man's teasing, he didn't know why he suddenly felt the urge…

His toes curled up uncontrollably, and his voice, soft and weak like a little kitten, carried a pleading tone as he looked at the man.

"I want… I want…"

It was too humiliating. Ruan Yao's face was flushed, as if dusted with a layer of delicate rouge.

Yet, Shang Chi deliberately leaned in closer to his ear, his voice low and teasing.

"Yao Yao, what do you want? Say it. Say it, and I'll let you do it."

Ruan Yao’s blue eyes glistened with a thin layer of moisture, making them look like the depths of a deep ocean.

"I… I need to go to the bathroom…"

He was so embarrassed that he tightly shut his eyes, a faint shimmer quickly slipping down from the corner.

His toes only tensed even more.

He was already at his limit.

Shang Chi still refused to let go, pressing a playful kiss on his earlobe as he asked, "You still haven't answered me. Why did you go out with Zhao Lin?"

Ruan Yao couldn't hold it in anymore. Frustrated and on the verge of tears, he snapped, "He said he would teach me how to date you!"

Shang Chi paused for a moment.

Ruan Yao was furious, but he was still trapped in the man's grip, unable to move. He cried as he vented his anger.

"I don't want to date you anymore! You and Zhao Lin are both awful!"

"No, you're going to date me."

Shang Chi suddenly became childish, his mood lifting in an instant. His lips even curled into a smile.

"You only need to hate Zhao Lin. That's enough."

He pressed a gentle kiss on Ruan Yao's forehead and smiled. "Be good. Stay right here."

The little beauty, completely powerless to resist, had awakened the darker side of the man’s nature. He leaned close to Ruan Yao’s ear and silently mouthed:

"Shh."

The next morning, Ruan Yao and Shang Chi were rudely awakened by the loud clanking and banging of construction from next door.

Ruan Yao had no strength left in his body, while Shang Chi, who had tormented him the whole night looked completely refreshed.

Frowning, he got up, fully intending to have a “talk” with the damn neighbor who had interrupted their morning.

The little cat clung to him, soft and lazy, refusing to let go, demanding to be carried.

Shang Chi knew he had bullied him too much last night, so he gently wrapped a blanket around him and held him close. But as he opened the door, his expression instantly turned cold.

"According to this apartment's regulations, I believe renovations are not allowed before 8 a.m."

Dr. Shang held a soft little cat in his arms, his tone chilling as he knocked on the door.

The tightly shut door creaked open immediately. A handsome man with a playful charm leaned against the doorframe, wearing Martin boots and a leather jacket.

He flashed a bright smile and greeted Dr. Shang, "Oh, Dr. Shang, my apologies, my apologies. I just moved in and wasn’t aware."

Zhao Lin grinned as he spoke, but his gaze lingered ambiguously on the drowsy little cat nestled in Dr. Shang’s arms.
